Overview

Carlo’s, nestled in the vibrant Asian Century Center of Taguig, Metro Manila, brings a refined slice of Italian-American pizza culture to the Philippines. This restaurant is a compelling choice for those who appreciate hearty, well-crafted comfort food in a modern, inviting setting. The space is thoughtfully designed with spacious tables and cozy round couch seating, creating an ambiance that suits everything from casual dinners to intimate dates. Their happy hour with a buy-two-get-one-free drink offer adds a lively touch, perfect for unwinding after a busy day.

At the core of Carlo’s menu lies a dedication to bold flavors and generous portions. The 18-inch pizzas are a standout, featuring a thin, crisp crust with a satisfying char—a nod to classic Italian traditions. Customers can mix and match two flavors on a single pie, allowing for a range of taste experiences. While the crust leans toward thinness, the toppings are abundant, ensuring each bite carries rich character. The “Vodka Pepperoni” half offers a creamy, subtly spicy vodka sauce that livens the palate, though some might find the heat slightly overpowering, masking the delicacy of ricotta cheese. Meanwhile, the “Italian Sausage” half dazzles with fennel-infused meat and a robust, savory marinara that favors boldness over sweetness.

Beyond pizza, Carlo’s excels with its pasta selections. The Spicy Vodka Rigatoni captures a lively balance of cream and heat, earning praise for its distinct flavors. The Agnolotti with sweet pumpkin fills delivers a comfortable, buttery experience where the filling truly shines without heavy sauces. Chicken Parmesan draws attention for its large, cheese-laden portions and a unique, slightly sweet crust—a flavor profile not typical in classic Italian cooking but intriguing nonetheless. For those who appreciate starters, the Mozzarella Sticks and the crispy Mojos with garlic aioli are delightful bites that complement the main dishes.

The restaurant’s commitment to quality extends to service and atmosphere. Multiple attentive staff members, including standout servers like Jake and Ray, contribute to a warm, efficient dining experience that doesn't feel rushed but well-paced. While indoor seating earns high marks for comfort and ambiance, dog owners might find the outdoor area a bit less refined, though it offers a pet-friendly option.

Carlo’s appeals strongly to locals and visitors seeking authentic yet accessible Italian-American cuisine, with larger-than-life flavors and a comfortable, stylish environment. Whether you’re craving a perfectly charred pizza, a rich pasta, or a simple Caesar salad, Carlo’s combines traditional recipes with a contemporary twist. It is a destination where food, service, and atmosphere converge, making it a welcomed addition to the Metro Manila dining scene.

Carlo’s Pizza is an Italian-American style eatery. We had 1 order of pizza (18”), pasta and main to try everything out. I really had high hopes for this restaurant because I just love pizza but maybe, I expected too much. The food wasn’t bad per se, but I wasn’t a fan of the flavor choices that some of the food had. Complimentary Bread - 4.5/5, delicious warm & soft foccasia bread Mojos -5/5, served with some garlic aoli, these were nicely crisped and warm. Pizza (18”) - I’m glad you can order two flavors for a giant pie. They’ll probably charge you the higher price so pick two flavors that cost close to each other. The crust had some good char and crunch, but the bread had quite a flop; wish it was a bit thicker because no matter how many times I tried. The pizza slice cannot support itself when holding it on the crust. Furst half Vodka PEP - 3/5, I haven’t tried any vodka sauce pies in New York so I have nothing to compare to see if Carlo’s vodka sauce was legit or not, but I wish it creamer & slightly sweeter. The sauce was mild spicy; you can definitely feel the heat. It felt like a cream based hot sauce. The heat was so predominant you can’t appreciate the pther toppings such as the ricotta cheese. Second half MuPeSau - 4/5, this flavor tasted better. The italian sausages were flavor bombs with strong notes of fennel seeds. What’s strong though their marinara sauce had no hints of sweetness. Usually you get notes of sweetness from simmering the tomatoes in an extended period of time. Eventhough the 18” pie was a bit thin on the bread, it still felt heavy eating because of the toppings and size. Chicken Parm - 3.5/5, when I first saw the chicken parm, I can’t help notice how dark the breading was. I was initially worried it would tasted burnt, but thankfully, it didn’t. However, it did tasted sweet. Perhaps their breading contained sugar that’s why it browned very dark. However, I have no idea who would like their fried chicken to be sweet. On the bright side, the portions are huge with generous amounts of cheese and marinara sauce on top. Agnolotti - 4/5, this ravioli was deliciously filled with sweet mashed pumpkin. Butter sauce was very subtle; the star of the dish was really the pumpkin filling. Nicely made! Service was top notch. There were many waiters you can call your attention to. Tables were nice and spacious; round couch setting.

4.5 stars Pizza: well executed for its style. It’s identical to what I had in Italy during the day. But it’s not the doughy charred bubble pizza I prefer. Quality of toppings and balance is excellent, but they don’t have any offerings with fresh herbs so they’re not able to hit the nuance high notes Service: excellent Ambiance: I love it. Perfect for a date because they have buy two get one free drink happy hour. Overall: 4/5 into the US, a perfect, five other five for Philippines, because this is head and shoulders above your average pizza place Note: we came here 4:30 PM on Monday, and there were plenty of tables around perfect time

The food was really good! The truffle pizza and burdain were delicious, and the spicy vodka pasta was also a standout. Really also enjoyed their Calamari as it was not oily. The staff, especially Sir Jake, were very accommodating and friendly. Overall, it was a great experience — I’d definitely go back!

Everything was great from the food to the service, but the only downside was outside seating. It wasnt the best but inside seating looked a lot better (we had to stay outside bcus we brought our dogs). Outside seating could use a little bit more improvement, but everything aside from that is a big BOOM

The pastas we ordered definitely need the improvement but the pizzas? They are bomb! All of the pizza flavors we’ve tried are all sooooo good, I’d still give Carlo’s 5 stars despite the pastas.
